2020 – 2nd Annual Bear Creek Cemetery Cleanup

Jack J, Kim H, Gene L, Kim H and eight other folks at Bear Creek Cemetery on June 6, picking up trash, dead tree branches, cleaning debris from the creek. 12 people were just about right and we spent two hours cleaning in the cemetery looks really nice. Rose Smith, the administrator for Bear Creek Cemetery, was very pleased that Evergreen and the Evergreen Elks Lodge is doing their part to beautify the old historic cemetery.

Clayton delivered these snacks on behalf of the Evergreen Elks Lodge to The Evergreen Fire Department in Bergen Park. Something for the folks to snack on in between calls and hopefully they do not have very many calls.

2020 Food Bank deliveries

Here are a couple more pictures Clayton took inside the main staging area. This food drive is being conducted by the “Clear Creek Veterans Coalition” and all the food is being staged at the Idaho Springs Elks Lodge. He will be there again during the week and on Saturday and will send you a few more pictures. This is an example of what the Evergreen  Elks Lodge is doing to help during this pandemic time.

2020 – ER Project – The Lodge’s CB & Q Burlington locomotive bell

How, Why & When the bell was gifted to our Lodge can be found here: https://evergreenelkslodge.com/winston-jones-legacy/

Placing the Bell: Clayton, Jack & Gene are creating a base for the special bell that has been waiting in the dungeon for a home. The bell will represent our commitment to all Veterans who have sacrificed to keep us free.

2020 National guard bbq

June – Another busy day for the Longmont, Idaho Springs, Arvada, and Evergreen Lodges working a barbecue for the Colorado Army National Guard. We prepared hamburgers, cheeseburgers, and brats for an estimated 120 soldiers. These folks are on deployment to the Denver Colorado area to help where needed. The Elks Lodge is doing their best to make life a little easier for them while they are away from home.
